Welcoming Our Baby Bulldog

Franklin Orville joined our family in North Carolina last week and we are absolutely LOVING our new pup. He is amazingly well-behaved, cuter than we could have imagined, and so so lovable! He is adapting very well to the new house, new schedule and definitely to his new toys.
We cannot thank Sam & James enough for raising such a great little boy for us! Ya'll are amazing at what you do with your pups & surely the other 6 babies are just as great as our boy. Frank sends his sweet little hugs and slobbery kisses! MUAH

Papa Franks plays with Frank Jr.

We caught the two of them in action and how funny it was to see! It looked like Dr. Evil and mini me in a bully wrestling match... excuse the analogy, basically it was really cute! Take a look for yourself:

Who says brothers can't kiss...

Especially when they love each other so much! Charles and Wilbur take a moment to show their love in the middle of playing!

Like Father Like Son

Franklin and Charles got to bond and spend some father son time together the other day! They are too sweet...

Baby Bullies First Bath

The bullies got their first real bath, in a tub, at 6 weeks old! I gave them a preview bath in a tupperware bin, to make sure they would be okay! They were very confused by the experience but most really seemed to enjoy it! Charles is so laid back, he took a nap in the middle of bath time... good thing the water was really shallow!

Let the Weaning Begin...

From three to four weeks we should start the weaning process. Now that the bullies are getting bigger and are their teeth are starting to come out, Lola is less excited about nursing (I am sure you can empathise). We offered the pups their first taste of canned puppy food and they were all so excited I don't foresee this weaning process being to difficult (these bullies LOVE food) and I know Lola will be very grateful!

Franklin say "hello" to your son!

Poor Papa Franks has been completely secluded from the lives of his baby bullies for a full three weeks! We finally decided it was time for him to meet his babies. We seemed very scared of them, to be such a tough "bulldog" we had to hold him to keep him in the room! Seems like momma Lola did a good job of scaring the life out of he and Louis for getting close to the nursery. Check out the above pictures of Franks meeting Wiley for the first time. We also have a new video added to our YouTube of Franks journey into the Nursery.

FIRST One to Bark!

Orville is such a fun pleasureable puppy; he will be going to Amanda & Anthony Scarsala of Jacksonville, NC. He was the first one to actually bark (and growl) about a week ago! He caught Uncle Louis sneeking into the nursery (he is not supposed to be in there) and Orville just let him have it! It has been very challenging to get it on camera; like is daddy, he is camera shy. But finally we caught him in the act barking and growling at his littermates. What a cutie, the Scarsala's of NC are definately going to have thier hands full with Frank Jr.

Behind the Scenes Supervision

Every Wednesday, we take a new "birthday" picture of the bullies. It is amazing the amount of growing that occurs in just 7 days. For this last mini photo shoot, we had some behind the scenes help. Both momma and papa were there as watchful eyes to lend a hand, and make sure their babies were okay!

Frankie Meets his Bullies...

It is hillarious that he is such a "bulldog" and yet, he is scared of a few baby bullies. Enjoy!

Weigh In

So we did our weekly weigh in on the bullies and they are definitely tipping the scales! See where your favorite weighed in:
Amelia 3lbs. 6oz.
Charles 3lbs. 3oz.
Chuck 3lbs. 8oz.
Orville 3lbs. 8oz.
Sally 2lbs. 12oz.
Wilbur 3lbs. 12oz.
Wiley 3lbs. 6oz.
You can definitely tell who has been hording all the milk, and who has to fight for a sip. We will be starting them all on canned puppy food soon, so that should balance out their weight a bit more.

Happy Birthday Bullies... THREE WEEKS!!

Wow, seems like everytime we turn around they are another week older! Everybody stop turning so fast... These guys are getting so big! They are all walking, eyes wide open and are ready to begin the weaning process, we will let you know how that goes.

Franklin's Revenge

We came home to find the puppy rectal thermometer chewed up and in the floor. When we left it was in the middle of the coffee table, nothing else was touched... just the thermometer! Looks like Frank is getting back and the puppies for stealing his spotlight! Maybe he will relax once he gets to meet them for the first time?!

Eyes Wide Open!

YAY!! Amelia was the first to open her eyes today. Don't get to excited, they are not completely open but they are on their way. Wiley was second in line with his eyes peaking open this evening. We are so excited, they are growing up so fast. Keep posted to see who is next to open their eyes...
**photo cation** Amelia (top) got caught with her tounge out after yawning. Wiley (bottom) is barely squeaking them open.

Sammie Made a FRIEND!

Little Wilbur seems to be the first of the puppies to really warm up to me, sucking kisses right off my nose!
It will be hard to see these sweet baby bullies go; but at the same time I am excited to get all of them placed in great homes with their new owners!

First time ever blogger

Hey, this is so exciting!! I don't have a clue if I'm at the right spot to post a comment--oh well. I wish I could be there to hold those babies, I've watched the "YouTube" video about 20 times. Just figured out today that I could go to the blog site & see all those other pictures & comments. I love "Daddy's day out", of course, but I need to see some pictures of Samantha, too. I feel like I'm sharing your lives with ya'll when I see Lola, Franklin, the puppies & Sammie (she can spell it anyway she wants to Mr. Smarty) & James. I'll try not to write a letter next time. Love ya'll!!!!

Frankie and his dad had a boys day out. We were having soooo much fun .... then he found the mud.

Poor Papa Franks

Newly titled Papa Frankie is not getting any attention. All he really wants is to know where those whimpers are coming from. He wants to meet his little babies and needs his woman back. All of his kisses have been going to me. Lola is going to be jealous if she sees this picture.

Tipping the Scales...

Looks like our baby bullies have put on a few lbs in the last 3 days!
Here are the results:

Amelia 1lb. 4oz.
Charles 1lb. 2oz.
Chuck 1lb. 4oz.

Meet the Gang!

We Love Our Surrogate Parents

I'm such a proud momma & Tony couldn't be a happier daddy-to-be! I think the entire city knows that we have a bulldog puppy on the way. Lola is taking such great care of the babies & we couldn't be more excited about how healthy and great they all are. They are growing too fast and we're missing it, which is heartbreaking, but we'll live. Here are some pics of Momma Lola & Papa Franks a few weeks ago on our visit to OK - in the first stages of pregnancy!! Enjoy!

Clean Momma

Bath Time... I got the okay from the Vet to give Lola her first bath since having the babies, I didn't want to hurt her since she still has stitches. She is a big fan of bubble baths and was excited to get herself clean from the puppy poop and post-op mess!

Umbilical Cord Part II

Looks like after the first three lost their umbilical cords Lola helped the rest of her babies loose theirs as well. Way to cut the cord... looks like they are already to go out on their own! Wonder what milestone they will over come next?!

How Much Do they Weigh?!

So, two days after the puppies were born I realized I had no idea how much they weighed. I called the vet to ask if they weighed them at birth... THEY DID NOT! So I went to wal-mart and bought a kitchen scale so that I could weigh the puppies at three days old the results are below:

Amelia: 12 oz.
Charles: 10.5 oz.
Chuck: 9.5 oz.
Orville: 11.5 oz.
Sally: 12 oz.
Wilbur: 11.5 oz.
Wiley: 10 oz.

Umbilical Cord

Looks like Chuck Yaeger was the first to lose his umbilical cord this morning. I was pretty taken back at first to see the cord on its own, after realizing what it was I looked to see who is belonged to! Later this afternoon, I realized that both Amelia Earhart and Wiley Post were no longer with a cord! They are growing so fast, three down... four to go... I wonder who will be next?!
Samantha cant even spell her own name. Its Sammy ... duh!
Those pups are the sweetest things ever
